It might sound like child's play, but closing doors, switching off lights and equipment after use is very important. With energy prices soaring, and our natural resources struggling, having Junior Energy Agents in your school will ultimately save you money.
So how does it work?
Well, it's actually pretty simple. We have two characters, Switchboy and Switchgirl whose job it is to make sure that when class is over, lights are switched off, equipment such as computers are also switched off when not in use, and where necessary, doors are closed.
Since the scheme was launched recently in Bishopspark School, a forces school in Germany, it is already proving to be a hit with staff and children alike. One teacher from the school said:
"When unveiled during a school assembly these characters were an immediate hit with the children from all year groups. Switchboy and Switchgirl help to cultivate the idea that we can all be energy super heroes. If the initial enthusiasm is anything to go by, the Junior Energy Agent campaign should be a winner."
To raise awareness of the scheme within your school, and to encourage children and adults alike, we have Junior Energy Agent 'Please close the door' stickers, as well as 'Turn off after use' stickers that can be placed on light switches, computers, TVs or anything else that will waste energy and cost you money.
For just £50 you can purchase a complete 'Junior Energy Agents' pack from us, which contains custom designed Switchboy and Switchgirl, matching your school's uniform. Then we will send you templates for the door notices, as well as equipment/light switch/tap labels. To really get the kids fired up, we have special Junior Energy Agent ID badges, as well as JEA certificates that the kids can take home. All these templates will be sent to you via email, and are designed to fit Avery products. You can use and re-use each template as many times as you want.
Teachers can nominate two children in each class who can be 'Switchboy' or 'Switchgirl'. You can nominate children on a weekly, monthly or per term - it's entirely up to you!
The bigger your school, the more children you can involve - and the more money you can save!
